Altre | Stanze anni ’50 e 60: Works from the Collection of the Banca d’Italia
On view from 20 July to 15 October 2018, in the ‘Frederick II’ room of the Swabian Castle of Bari, the exhibition “Altre | Stanze Anni ‘50 e ‘60, opere dalle raccolte della Banca d’Italia” (‘Others | Rooms. 1950s and 1960s: Works from the Collection of the Banca d’Italia’).
More than forty works by thirty-five Italian artists from various Banca d’Italia locations have been brought together in one place as evidence of the passage in Italian art from the figurative to the abstract and Art Informel, over the two most fruitful decades in the creative development of Italian artistic culture.
Lucio Fontana, Franco Angeli, Renato Guttuso Corrado Cagli, De Chirico, Mambor: just a few of the artists whose paintings and sculptures have made their mark on Italian contemporary art and whose work will be displayed together in this exhibition.
The catalogue, published by Banca d’Italia, will be available to visitors for a voluntary contribution. The funds from the sale of the catalogue will be used to restore works of art from the castle.
Open to visitors until 15 October.
Exhibition hours: 8.30 AM to 7.30 PM (last entry 6.30 PM). Closed Tuesdays.
